ABOUT US
As higher education was expanding in Drôme and Ardèche, the AVE was founded by students in January 1984 to unite and manage all the student projects together.
The AVE / AGEDA currently includes 17 united students' association, and represents the student interests to local authorities (town council, district councils of Drôme and Ardèche, and finally Rhône Alpes).
Through our network of associations, we are operating in every higher education institution, and provide information and assistance to the students.
We also work in partnership with organizations involved with students: CROUS, the University development Office, the SIUAPS, Espace Santé Jeune, the universities.... and we seek to promote public health projects.
EVENTS
- LE GALA DE L'ETUDIANT
This is a major student event, the first one of the academic year. It takes place in November, at the Parc des Expositions, in Valence. 2500 students usually attend. Fun activities - fair booths - prizes to win - international DJ's.
- ULTIMATE NIGHT
New event organized by the AVE. Champagne - evening dress - bow tie - red carpet - cocktail reception - "jet set" atmosphere !
- LE CHALLENGE DE L'ETUDIANT
Held twenty times already, this varsity sporting event is unique in France !
Each year, the higher education institutions of Valence gather together and for a whole weekend, students compete with each other in a fun and playful atmosphere, defending their university or college.
WHAT WE DO
- We offer a wide variety of recreational activities to students: bowling, Laser game, karting...
- Accommodation and jobs vacancies are posted online (browse for free) or on the notice board.
- We get involved in the higher education fair "Post Bac" held in Drôme-Ardèche, which provides information to prospective students about higher education opportunities in the 2 départements.
- A student band performs during La Fête de la Musique.
- In 1998, we established an aid fund, designed to promote students' personal projects (humanitarian, cultural, etc...). We will grant financial support, after the project has been considered, and accepted by a commission.
- With the associations, we run fair booths to raise funds for the Téléthon, which will be donated to the AFM.
- The "Children's Christmas at the hospital" initiative is carried on: we collect money from students, which we use to buy toys for children taken to hospital during Christmas time.
- We organize a raffle fundraiser which will enable the CROUS to help disadvantaged students. Win a prize with all the tickets !
- Within the road safety scheme, we carry out "Capitaine de soirée" campaigns : we take the car keys of the drivers, who must stay sober during the party, to get the keys back !

L'AGENDA DE L'ETUDIANT (The student guide)
This handbook is full of tips and practical information. It will be given out to every student, at the start of the academic year.
LA CARTE AVE (The AVE card)
This card gets you many discounts in the local shops and stores.
LE GUIDE DU CHALLENGE (The Challenge de l'Etudiant guide)
This guide will tell you everything you need to know about the Challenge de l'Etudiant: what's on during the weekend, which university or school is participating, games and sports rules.
